Shih Tzu National - Day 1

ROADTRIP!!!

Our Shih Tzu national adventure began this morning with our departure from home. We spent the day driving and are spending the night in TN. We will continue the drive tomorrow and will arrive in Georiga sometime in the afternoon.

Teddy says it is too windy today.

Big mailbox at a fuel stop.

Visited Superman in Metropolis.

Dinner at a Waffle House.

Started writing in my Scrapbook on the Road book tonight. It will be fun to put together as the week goes on.

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge - Pets

I couldn't resist entering this week's I Heart Faces photo challenge, which is PETS!

This is my Shih Tzu, Teddy.  Teddy is seven years old.  He competes in agility and is a registered therapy dog.  He participates in a reading program at a local library.

Organize Your Stuff Challenge (Round 4) - Weeks 2 and 3

OK ... I fell behind already!  Yikes!!!

Week 2 - Brainstorming

What does the scrap space of my dreams look like?  It looks pretty close to what I already have, but with MUCH less clutter!  Things would be neatly stored, look nice, and be easily accessible.  (I'd use much more stuff and save a lot of time if my things were better organized.)

Considering my "problem areas" I mentioned in Week 1 (paper storage, embellishments, rubber stamps, stamp pads, and markers) - the reason they are a problem is because they either don't have a useful space (where I can easily access them) or they don't have a place at all.

Things like adhesive are stashed in bins ... all together, but cluttered looking.

I like these bins, but they are currently cluttered looking (and one is also labeled STAMPS - which means, stamps are located in multiple places!

Week 3 - Clean Slate!

This is a BIG one - box up my stuff until it can "play nicely" in my scrap room.  While it is an option to "go for broke" and box up the whole room, that won't be practical right now.  (I'll be away for a while.)  I don't want to put this on pause so I'll box up something that's making a big mess right now ... rubber stamps.  (Sorry, stamps - it's for your own good.)

While I'm at it, I will go thru my doggy stuff - I have a bunch of goodies to donate to the raffle at the Shih Tzu national.  That will clear some space too.

Scrapbook on the Road

I signed up for the Scrapbook on the Road class by Ali Edwards.  We're going to the American Shih Tzu Club's national specialty in Atlanta in a few weeks.  We will be competing in agility, obedience, and rally obedience while we are there.

This project will be just what I need for the trip!  I set up all of the pages so that I can journal and add goodies that I collect from the road.

The finished book can be seen here: Finished book

Some of the products/tools I used were:

  •  BoBunny: Momma-Razzi paper, rub ons, and chipboard stickers (Two Peas in a Bucket
  • 7 Gypsies: stickers, front/back cover (covered with canvas from Hobby Lobby

No ... I didn't get a puppy!  This is Autry, who belongs to my friend Pat.  Autry came to visit our agility practice this morning, and I got a few pictures.  What a very sweet puppy - all of the noises from the agility practice didn't bother his nap at all.  I did quite a bit of Photoshop work on the first picture - there was a mirror right behind his head.

Photo of the Day 4/12/2011

Spring is arriving!  I  took this picture on my walk to the parking lot after work.  Cool to see the moon in the background; today is the 50th anniversary of the 1st manned space flight.

Teddy's weekend agility videos

Standard wasn't our thing this weekend ... but Jumpers with Weaves definitely was!  Teddy qualified both days in jumpers and earned NINE points on each run (for us, that's a LOT!)  Standard on Saturday ended pretty quickly - Teddy missed the dogwalk contact, so I stopped the run.  Sunday, first obstacle was the tire and he went UNDER it (how, I don't know).  Hit the contacts ... slowly, but he did them.  I know what we need to work on for the next few weeks, so we'll be ready for the Shih Tzu national.

Saturday Jumpers with Weaves
Sunday Jumpers with Weaves (I missed the walk thru on this one, so qualifying and earning nine points is even more amazing to me!)

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday ... and look what bloomed in her yard!  Glad I was in town to celebrate her day with her and to see the flowers.

Had a good time at Archiver's Saturday night.  I just need to finish assembling my Scrapbook on the Road.

Fun Agility and Scrapbook Weekend

Fun day at the agility trial today! Teddy qualified in jumpers with weaves, but missed his dogwalk contact in standard, which prompted me to pull him from the rest of the course.

Tonight, we are scrapbooking with a friend at an Archivers up here. I am going to work on my Scrapbook on the Road project for our trip next month to the Shih Tzu specialty in Atlanta.

Photo of the Day - 4/3/2011

It's a really nice sunny day ... but very WINDY!  Louie, Annie, and Teddy went out in the yard for a bit, but they wanted inside pretty quickly.  Hard to see with all of that hair flying around.

Caught this cute picture of Louie.  Guess playtime wore him out.
