This week, I started using Pinterest. I didn't think it was something I would be interested in, but it's been a lot of fun. There's also a Pinterest app - but it still needs some refining (at least they provided an update to keep it from crashing!)
What is Pinterest? Remember cutting out all kinds of interesting things from magazines - recipes, decorating ideas, fashion and trying to keep track of all of that "inspiration" - perhaps by pinning it to a bulletin board? Or ... how about bookmarking all of the blogs and other websites where you've found such cool ideas - only to forget why you bookmarked them or where to find them when needed? That's where Pinterest comes in. When you're on a site, you can "pin" a photo of what you like and store it on your "board".
You can create as many boards as you like, share them with others, and follow other people's boards. You can also "re-pin" items you like onto your boards. Clicking on the photos themselves takes you to the original source of the photo. My Pinterest site is located on the sidebar of this blog.
Pinterest requires an "invitation" from an existing member to sign up (loading the app can put you on a "waiting list").
